Welcome to Skookumworks

When Bill was diagnosed with a recurrence of prostate cancer, he was scheduled for radiation therapy in a city two hours away from his home. Not wanting to drive four hours a day just to sleep in his own bed, Bill opted to stay in a hostel residence adjacent to the treatment centre.

While staying in the hostel—with a borrowed laptop—Bill created the story line for the book ‘The Amazing Thing about Grace’, writing many of the chapters there. Five years later, the book came to fruition when Bill self-published it under the publishing name Skookumworks.

‘The Amazing Thing about Grace’ is an inspiring story, an empowering one. It is also an informative account written to generate an awareness of prostate cancer, the silent disease that affects so many men and their families. A portion of the profits from the sale of this book will be donated towards awareness and research of that disease.

It is Bill’s hope that, through this book, men will start talking, replacing that silence with a sense of unity in a struggle that should be shared, not secreted.

Enjoy the read! Seek joy in your life!
